1. What are CALs?
Course Accommodation Letters (CALs) notify faculty of your approved DSS accommodations. We recommend that you send your CALs to your professors at the beginning of each semester. After you send your CAL, your professor will receive a link to the CAL in an email to their CSUF faculty email account.
2. When do I send my CALs?
Send your CALs to each of your professors at the beginning of each semester. Ideally no later than the end of the second week of instruction.
3. What is in the CAL? Does it disclose my disability?
The CAL lists your approved DSS accommodations and informs your instructor of your registration with DSS. It does not disclose your disability or why you registered with DSS.
4. Do I need to send CALs?
Yes. You need to send a CAL for each course you want to use your approved DSS accommodations in.
Professors do not know if you have approved DSS accommodations- if you do not send your CALs. Professors are also not able to provide support for your approved DSS accommodations- if you do not send your CALs.
Approved DSS accommodations cannot be applied retroactively, so it is important to send your CALs at the beginning of each semester.
